Noon Meem Rashid is a progressive movement Urdu poet. He belongs to a Janjua family in Alipur Chatta in Gujranwala District of Punjab. He got his master’s degree in economics from Government College University Lahore. During the second world war, he served the Royal Indian Army and reached the rank of Captain until retirement.
After the 1947 independence, he joined All India Radio and worked in New Delhi. Later on, he transferred to Peshawar, where he worked till 1953. After that, he joined Voice of America and performed well for years. United Nations hired him for official work because of his powerful speech qualities.
